Wayback Wednesdays

I was reading Vibe (with Ciara on the cover) and there was an article counting down the greatest duets of all time. While CAUN steamed that Mary and Method were not on the list for "All That I Need" and I was incredulous that Stepfanie Mills and Teddy Pendergrass were left out for "Feel the Fire" (TEDDY TEDDY TEDDY) - the article gave me about a months worth of Wednesday Waybacks and some stuff I needed to put on the IPOD.

Today we will go back and remember who Vibe chose as the NUMBER ONE DUET OF ALL TIME.....

Alexander O'Neal and Cherrelle's Saturday Love!

(it's okay put you can close your mouth - I was incredulous as well)

Of course I remember and loved both of them. Did you just not feel like you would run into Alexander like at the corner store. That man NEVER cleaned up to 'look' like a celebrity and you just couldn't quite figure out whether or not Cherrelle was cute but everyone agreed she had a bangin body, lol. She was one of the first "Butter Face" - you know everything looks good BUT HER FACE, lol lol lol

So without further Adieu - Let's go back...

Cherrelle rose to fame as one of the premier female R&B divas of the mid-to-late 1980s. Cousin of pop singer and TLC founder Perri "Pebbles" Reid, Cherrelle began her music career shortly after being discovered by Tabu Records founder Clarence Avant, who signed her to his label in 1983. Cherrelle got her name after her boss from a job hollered "Cher-relle, you're late again!"

In 1984, under the production of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, she released her debut, Fragile, which went gold, thanks to the Top Ten R&B single, "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On". She released her best-selling album in 1985 with High Priority, which featured the hits "You Look Good to Me", "Will You Satisfy?" and "Artificial Heart" and her seminal duet with Alexander O'Neal in the #2 single, "Saturday Love". In 1988, she released her third album Affair, which featured the #1 R&B single, "Everything I Miss at Home". On that strength, it was her third consecutive gold record.

She released her last chart-topper with 1991's The Woman I Am, which was a departure from her Jam & Lewis productions. She reunited with the producers eight years later with her album The Right Time, which was released in 1999. Since then, Cherrelle has been performing at venues in America and all over the world. Pop singers Robert Palmer and Mariah Carey have each covered her "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On" while "Saturday Love" has been heralded as one of the greatest soul duets in history.

O'Neal was born in Natchez, Mississipi, but moved to Minneapolis when he was 20. He joined a group called "The Mystics" and played the local coverband circuit. O'Neal spend spent a short time in a group "Enterprise" before being recruited into "Flyte Tyme", a band that included Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis and Monte Moir. Later signed to Prince's Paisley Park label with their name changed to The Time, a disagreement with Prince led to O'Neal leaving the band and being replaced as lead singer by Moris Day.

In 1985 O'Neal released his self-titled album, filled with streamlined grooves, including the funk jam, Innocent. The song was a funky Jam/Lewis groove, featuring The Secret - (Monte Moir, Cherrelle, Jellybean Johnson, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis). The song lasts nearly 10 minutes and consists of some exceptional guitar and keyboard solos, which also features the funk intermission of Alex 9000.

Alex's 1987 release, titled Hearsay, includes the smash hit Fake. Fake is arguably one of the best songs ever made to feature the "Minneapolis Funk" sound, the song was also nominated for a Soul Train Music Award for Single of the Year (Male). The biggest single from the album was Criticize which was his biggest hit in the UK peaking at number four in the singles charts. "Hearsay" sold over 700,000 copies in the UK alone.

He released several more albums. Alexander O'Neal would not release another album till 2001, when signed to Eagle Records he came back with "Saga of a Married Man" which was a type of concept album. Producing the album was former Prince guitarist Bobby Z.

Based in Minneapolis, he frequently commutes to Britain, which he sees as his "second home". His six albums have charted both in the UK and the US and he has enjoyed numerous sell-out tours. At present O'Neal is signed with the UK based Eminence Records.

In 2005, he recorded his first live album, Alexander O'Neal Live at Hammersmith Apollo. It's a collection of his Favorites and Biggest Hits from his career. With his personal love of performing on stage and constant tour support from his fans it was a clear progression for him to deliver the live experience in the form of an album. He has handpicked tracks that traverse the success of his career singing alongside a 12 piece band.

O'Neal's first Live DVD, taken from a performance at London's Hammersmith Apollo in March 2006 in due out in January 2007. It includes a duet with J.C. Bentley, Saturday Love.

The celebrity duet show Just The Two Of Us is back for a new series in January 2007, which Alexander O'Neal will once again be taking part in, this time partnering Janet Ellis. He begins his UK Tour in March 2007 which will carry through till the end of April.

Little Miss Sunshine!

Morning. Today my team and I have 'Insight Training' For those who have never heard of it. It's a personality test similiar to Myers-Briggs where you are assigned a 'color' and then you discuss and do activities to learn how to honor those 'colors' and work more efficiently together. BOO HISSSS! LOL!

We've had this training maybe 4 years ago and I was identified as a Yellow. That fits me perfectly. I am the social butterfly of the office. I am the one who always wants to talk and find out about you and gossip and hang out by the water cooler. I know everyone and get things done with honey all the time. I am the go to person if you are having problems with human interaction. I can't stand the stress of working and probably need to be downtown at Underground doing performance art, lol I don't see that changing much today.

I did get a kick out of the ways to approach a yellow which included: (1) Never just give them orders, engage them in conversation preferably about nonwork related stuff (2) Allow them to talk, they must have conversation and feel connected if you are to get successful work out of them. LOL LOL LOL Where and on what planet do people take the time to do that!? I work with a majority of the color 'Red' which are basically employment psychopaths, lol lol They are the ones who will sell their mother for a promotion etc. etc. I am like this dandelion in a concrete jungle.

Now the flip side of that is when I get angry - you don't want to see me when I get angry! Yellows are some nasty bitches when they want to be and the pendulum swings very wide. If I decide that it's just not going to work - then I SHUT IT DOWN! I can be the biggest pain in the ass and just zone out and you won't get a staple up in this piece, lol

I want to work on not being such a true yellow. I need some balance. It's like the last time I was like a damn caution light, lol I want to incorporate in particular some Greens which would give me an earthy feel.

I enjoy personality tests because I am so in touch with my personality that I like to see how I can tweek it based on these tests. I wonder if I will have more of a narccistic edge to me know because I have been feeling myself something awful. I wonder if that's helping me at my job. I wonder if I still harbor deep seated grudges, lol Well actually just at certain family members and that will be ongoing. My issues with some of my family don't require personality tests they require therapy and brainshock, lol

So this evening I will be back with an update on what transpired today in Insight Training. I hope I get some Insight into some of these folks.

The Followup

Well that was easy enough. I found out that I have made some movement. I am still totally in the Yellow spectrum but I have developed a bit more Green in my life which means I am starting to...care. The biggest thing is that in order to push myself more effectively I have to ramp up my Blue tendacies which entail being interested in the details. I work for a Red and a Green which to me is a good mixture. I work with someone who is pushing me off the side of a building and then someone who will jump and rush ahead to provide a parachute for me.

Oh and CAUN is definately a GREEN, I have to see what tendacies he has.

Here are a couple of things that interested me about the profile:

Blindspots

Because of her well developed tolerance of herself and other people, Pamela may appear detached and disinterested. Pamela may not realize that it is perfectly acceptable to receive without having to give in return. Pamela may become so engrossed with her own projects that other important tasks lie forgotten. She can sometimes be impractical and may neglect routine details that need attention.

She hesitates to criticise others and has a hard time saying no to requests for assistance. She would be better to speak up immediately when she feels that she is being taken advantage of. Because of her vulnerability in her relationships with others, Pamela may be rather easily manipulated by some.

Although she may not readily display it, Pamela can be so committed to her own principles that she develops tunnel vision. Pamela is so emotionally entangled in her projects that she is very sensitive to negative criticism of her work. She values friends and may tend to filter only their positive attributes.

Suggestions for Development

Concentrating on the task at hand
Taking life more seriously
Setting deadlines - and sticking to them
Questioning the motives of others
Sticking to standard procedures
Curbing her tendency to exaggerate
Focus on her own needs rather than those of others
Distancing and formalising certain relationships
Looking for inconsistencies and weaknesses in others' arguments.

On A Good Day

Sociable
Dynamic
Demonstrative
Enthusiastic
Persuasive

On A Bad Day

Excitable
Frantic
Indiscreet
Flamboyant
Hasty
Flippant

Monday Musings

MORNING! Just in case you thought that we had come to the end of the adventure, some pictures for your viewing pleasure, lol lol I hope everyone had a good weekend. As you can see, I was all about the phone upgrade! Otherwise, I think I officially got back in town in my head yesterday. I'm giving wedding fever a month so on February 20th I should be done with that. I still have to organize pictures, print pictures, make books, make scrapbooks and send out thank you cards. I did finally unpack. Now I'm really home dammit!!

My intellectual mindspace is starting to crank back up and I'm glad. I had jotted down some things on my mind and it's time to get them out - so expect those soon. I finally caught up with reading others blogs. Seems as if everyone is chugging along. The year is still new and I know as we progress in the year all kinds of things will get to poppin.

I see that Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson are on their way to Oscar Glory. I know CLAY wasn't feeling it - but actually I'm not either in terms of Jennifer Hudson. That business will build you up and then purposedly push you down. I am SOOO HAPPY FOR HER! Yet I wish she wouldn't get it all now. I guess the good thing is that she actually wants to be a singer - so her getting all the accolades for her acting will certainly parlay over into when her album comes out.

UNCF gave a tribute to Aretha and I am sooo tired of Fannie Mae (Fantasia) jumping around. Jennifer Hudson GOT DOWN and I wanna know what undergarments she had on under that dress - it was smooth and seamless.

American Idol is cracking me up. Paula needs medical attention and Randy is mad cause his lapband didn't work and is taking it out on everyone. As always it's taking to long to get to the actual competition.

I watched a piece of the celebration of gospel last night. Steve is Steve. I'll watch it again when it comes on again. Cause you know it will be on again, lol

Funny, I'm having a hard time getting into "I Love NY" - it's just not interesting to me. Maybe I'll watch them all back to back and see if it works.

Well let me get off of this thing - at some point they keep asking me to WORK!!

Just a reminder:

We are still blogging about the ever elusive weight loss over at WEIGH TO GOAs well as the Fantasy has returned DRIPPING CHOCOLATE

A BREAKUP and DIVORCE!

You know what? Sometimes you think that it's right for you, but in actuality you are settling and you are being afraid to want more. You go for comfortable instead of what you really need and what you actually want.

While in Vegas, I discovered the magnitude of the above statement and so Friday...it was OVA!

I turned in THIS:

For THIS:

(Ha! I know ya'll didn't think this had anything to do with CAUN - HELL TO THE NAW!)

I was a loyal Metro PCS Customer. The ability to talk till I was blue in the face was right on target for me. So what I couldn't talk out of town - I wasn't going anywhere. Well that wasn't and isn't the truth. While in Vegas, I had to rely exclusively on CAUN and MINI-ME to communicate with folks that were in town and anything else. Ya'll I was sooo fustrated!

If we wern't together, then I was just ass out and not to mention Mini-me was acting like I asked her to move into my bedroom or something. This heifer would look at the phone say "Hmm don't know that number" and not answer it! Lawd Help me through the teenage years!

So CAUN said that I was going global - pick something. Well I have had a palm for a number of years. Like the technology, so I went with Cingular (because Janet is on - and that's my main talk buddy) and the Treo 680. LOVE IT! I love fiddling around with new stuff anyhoo so I got the phone Friday - it charged the 12 hours and as of today:

**Synched my addy book from my palm to the phone then edited heavily because I didn't need all that crap (example: all the numbers from the dudes I used to know, lol).

**Set all of my setting to my specifications

**Joined two support groups online: Everythingtreo and treofreeware.

**Downloaded a program to make ringtones for the Treo and edited and placed "Fake My Way to the top" from the dreamgirls soundtrack as my ringtone.

**Had CAUN record his voice and placed it s his ringtone

**Set up my favorites and speed dial

**Added the additional programs that came with the phone and downloaded an excel spreadsheet where I keep my budget

**Added birthdays, holidays, important dates to my calendar

**Set up but didn't initialize the program to get my work email.

**Went to ebay and ordered me an accessory kit

**Went to ebay and orderd me 'skins' for the phone to give it some pizzazz

**Added an SD card and downloaded pictures and additional music used a wedding picture as my wallpaper.

**Talked till I was blue in the face to Janet a fellow cingular customer

**Closed out the Metro and will be placed it on Ebay.

**Hard reset my Zire 72 (which came with a camera) to give it to CAUN.

So now I'm bored with the whole thing, lol lol Mini-me got a new phone as well and apparently this has moved her into the top spot in teendom (at least until Friday when she has another breakdown, lol)

Well this is the launch of returning to blogging - see ya'll tomorrow!

Re-entry can be painful

Sad Face - ok as I sit here at my desk at work, I feel this great amount of.......let down. Maybe I should have taken the week off. I mean it's not like I came into a load of work, but I guess I feel like the 'project is over'. I'm back home, I'm married, I'm overdrawn at the bank and life goes on, lol lol

Ya'll we had SUCH a good time! I have not unpacked because if I stay packed maybe I'll wake up and be back in Vegas. CAUN keeps teasing me with mess like "I'll be back just going to play a few slots" Hardy Har Har - - HELL! I'll be alright by the weekend - just now it feels kinda......regular.

About the pictures: They are coming! I have about 300 pictures and I have in my possession NONE of our wedding pictures. My friend took all those pictures and hasn't had the time to upload and send them to me. I put the actual wedding pictures in the shop today and they should be back by Friday and of course I'll be posting. I can't wait to see them because the poses were beautiful.

At minimum I need my new favorite drink a TEQUILA SUNRISE! Yummy! I had WAYYY to many of those in Vegas, lol lol I also am catching up on others blogs. Glad it was kinda over the weekend when alot of folks don't blog. Thank God for Kinja, lol

Well let me respond to a couple of comments:

Monica - to be honest, it wasn't until I was watching the wedding did I even notice the baby, lol I was in my own little world. CAUN's best friend was...crying and was trying to clean it up. That was my nephew that was down there fidgeting, lol lol Man we took a bunch of pictures with Pastor Lucky. "Janet" and I were as if we got married, lol lol. I wish that the camera had of went Wide instead of long so that you could see my entire bridal party. Mini-me had a good time.

Beauty - email me at pmprice@mail.com the wedding is up for 30 days :)

Aziza - I didn't even post the ones of Martin Luther King - it was wayy off. Of course I was at the feet of Mike, but I need to talk to my daughter, lol lol She got Wayyy happy up in that piece, lol

Well as part of reentry I have school work to do, lol So let me get started on that, lol

I's Married Now!

As I sit here waiting on my husband to meet me at midnight - I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who took the time out of their lives to witness our wedding!!

They were running behind and thus we were late - we apologize for that. Not to mention my peeps came OUT and they had to make some changes to accommodate us.

I just looked at the webcast and I was oh so giddy, lol lol lol It was a beautiful ceremony and I am SOOOOO in love with that man!

He running the streets with his boys right now - but I'll see him soon. I guess I better nap of these FOUR Tequila Sunrises I shared with my maid of honor.

The dinner was off the chain.

This will be the LAST time ya'll see me until I get back home and settled. We leave here Monday afternoon.

CAUN and I would like to say thanks again for your kindness and love during our special time. We got TONS of pictures coming soon!!

Peace,

The Magnegroes!

TODAY IS THE DAY!

Click here to make your own myspace banners from MyspaceBanners.com!

Well people TODAY IS THE DAY! Caun and Stormeka become one under the covenant of marriage!!

I am up this morning feeling good! I spoke to Caun a little earlier and he's set. He spent the night at his brothers home. It hit me then hard that the next time I see him - I will be joining him at the alter to take vows as his wife!!

My mom got in around 8:00pm last night. We went down and met her at her hotel and introduced our parents to one another. Then we all went to eat. At that time my Brother-in-Law just walked into the restaurant! He was at a business meeting in San Diego and flew down to attend our wedding!! So now I have my past, my present and my future all in attendance. What a beautiful beautiful feeling!

Last evening I actually spent it quite quietly. I went down to the Casino, ran into my friend WAR and we sat and played a bit of roulette. I spent $40 and won back $8. What I find is that in Vegas there are so many places to gamble that the 'excitement' of Atlantic City being smaller is not here. There is excitement, but our casino is relatively empty.

TODAY IS MY WEDDING DAY! I am trembling and my stomach hurts! I laid out all of the things to transform myself into a blushing bride. My mom said I was so glowy, lol lol

My ladies will be arriving at 11am for us all to begin the transformation. The limo will be here at 1:30pm to pick us up.

I'm going to get Mini-me up and just she and I will go downstairs and have some light breakfast.

Unfortunately today is going to be 'heavy' so I need to make sure that I have everything all shored up so "Aunt Flo" won't be attending the wedding anymore than her rank ass already is!!

It's going to be soooo 'weird' putting the wedding folders away. Well I won't for a couple of weeks while I organize and get pictures done, brag books for the parents, thank you cards, talk about it extensively and write about it just as much.

I have already been thinking post wedding on the blog, lol lol I had tabled alot of cool subjects when I got wedding fever, but it's in the queue and it will be coming out, lol lol

So let me do my daily AW SHIT did we overspend check! Talk to ya'll later.

Overwelmed

So I'm sitting here waiting on my mom to get in. She should have been here by now. We are suppose to go get some dinner.

We had a full day! I'm wore out!
We went and got our license and then went over to the chapel to check it out and finish up the paperwork for that. So we are all set for tomorrow.

Also met my future Mother-in-Law and that went exceptionally well. Folks from his side have been calling to express how happy they are and to say that they are digging me. It's always nice when your mans friends like you.

I also walked the other end of the strip, which I guess is the south end, checking out the sites and sounds with my brother his wife, my other sister-in-law and Mini-me. We did a little shopping and then crawled on back in here. I haven't even seen "janet" yet but tonite we are going to Club Tao - so that should be cool!! Yea I'm going to push on through - that's what I'm gonna do!

Oh and "Aunt Flo" decided to come so my wedding night is RUINED! However, we are booking us a room at the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta for next weekend, where we can have a do over, lol

The fam is here with me - sleep. Everyone has been taking these power naps - so that we can hang. I'm wearing low shoes to the club so my feet won't be swollen tomorrow. I need to find me a Walgreens and get me some eye drops so I won't be looking crazy tomorrow - but it's on and poppin peeps!

Here's me and mini-me at the Flamingo Fountains.

Oh and we had lunch at Circus Circus and the buffet SUCKED!! However the desserts were to die for!

VEGAS BABY!

OOOOOO WEEEEEE!! My body thinks it's 10am but it's 7 out here!!

GOOD MORNING WORLD!!

What a trip across the states! We missed our connecting flight in Dallas (thanks Atlanta!) however my Bride to Be Button scored me alcohol on the flight, lol. Were able to stand by and we got here about 5:30 pst.

We checked in at the airport and we are on the 22nd floor. We have a FABULOUS view! The Flamingo is very nice. Toni Braxton is their show headliner and she has an entire store just to herself. I know before this is over - I'll be sick of her, since her music is waifing all over the place.

My dear friend WAR was already here and we hooked up and went to eat at the buffet.
I have never seen a mount of seafood like that in my LIFE!! Awww dag! The food was good. This is a Pepsi hotel (BOOOO) and it ain't GA Tea up in this piece. The water is kinda nasty too - so I'll be finding me a store for some bottled water cause the one sitting in front of me is $3.50!!

CAUN's Brother got here with one of Caun's childhood best friends - ladies he's cute got a Tupac nose, lol We went to the craps table and with drink in hand - I got to playing I maintained the $100 that Caun's Bro gave me and came away with $65! Then I hit the slots and won $25 (got my dinner money back!) All the while drinking Long Island Ice Teas!

Next we hit the strip after dropping Mini-me off at the room (previously her and Caun were in the game room). By now I'm TIPSY! So that was ALOT of fun. I've been to Atlantic City alot - but Vegas is Vegas! I loved it! I stopped and got me a drink - and walked the strip laughing and joking and chillin.

I went to bed finally after staggering home around 1:00am which would be 4:00am our time! "Janet" and crew after a lonnnng layover (thanks again Atlanta) are here and she just went to bed. They staying at the Venetian. I'll see them later.

Today is about paying for the license and the chapel and taking Mini-me out. Cauns mom gets here shortly and is staying in this hotel. My mom is getting here tonite around 5:30pm.

So the total drink count for 1/18/07 is:

  • 1 Cranberry and vodka

  • 4 Long Island Ice Teas

  • 2 Kamakazi's

  • 1 Octane 190

I'll be keeping a running total of this right here! Well folks. The internet was quite reasonable and I was panicking about our bank account, so I had to log on. Blogging while on vacation might seem 'nerdy' or 'corny' to some - but it's the only way to go! Adding depth to the experience and this is the ADVENTURES of Pamalicious!

So ya'll have a good day! I will be blogging first thing in the morning before the wedding - internet will still be on, lol lol

Walking around in a Fog

Click here to make your own myspace banners from MyspaceBanners.com!

Hey peeps! Well as evidenced above a little more than 72 hours left...until I embark upon a whole new adventure.

Right now I'm sitting here with sooo many things on my mind. The past, the present and the future.

THANKS TO EVERYONE who commented on the Party and the Lists!! I don't have the bandwidth right now to comment individually as you can well understand.

What happened with the pole is that it wasn't on the stud the first time - so "Breakaway" brought it down, then when we were trying to put it back up - it shot through the ceiling. The level of laughter in that house was ear shattering.

I can finally walk without a poppin sound in my legs, lol lol Glad to be able to kick it again - I gotta put these heels on, lol

We are going to keep our lists to one another. Add it to our other lists of stuff like 50 things I know about you. 50 things I want to experience with you, 25 things that irk me etc. etc. These were kinda like our 'premarital counseling'

I made my FINAL LISTS. It's scary to have even made these lists, lol this event planning is just about over!

I also am cramming one week of class in two days. I completed 90% of this week last night.

I'm on my way this morning to the bank (man let me tell you the flow of money in and out of this piece is startling right about now).

As a matter of fact here are some things I'll be working on today

  • Go to bank

  • Go get hair done at braiders

  • Go pick up dress

  • Finish up Veil and Bouquets

  • Add CAUN Man to the Program as a Groomsmen

  • How bout PACK?!

  • Mail a couple of Programs to non-attendees

  • Run to Dollar Store

  • Powerpoint for school

  • Pick up Mini-me

  • Pick up CAUNS suit from cleaners

  • Nails Feet and Brows

  • Make Ceremony CD for Chapel - 3 songs

  • Send out Procession Chart to Wedding Party

  • Finish Projects for Bridesmaids

  • Finish up Surprise for CAUN

  • Get OFF of here and get some of the above done!

I will be back this evening with a sneak preview of the hair! Ya'll have a good day.

What it be people!?! Now that I have feeling back in my legs - it's on and poppin again, lol lol Am I the only one thinking that right now the Golden Globe is reevaluating it's nomination policy cause wayyy to many of ya'll won up in that piece last nite, lol

Well folks - we have come within days of the big event. I want to clarify that this blogs purpose was not to count down to the wedding, so I'll be back with new adventures and new stuff to talk about - because the wedding is an EVENT our life together and just out here in the world is the real adventures. I have all my lists and cross lists etc. etc. and it looks like I am Organized - Far as I'm concerned we're into the hours baby!

I'd like to thank the powers that be for the awful weather out that way, lol Last time I checked it's suppose to be like 38 degrees and raining, lol lol Lawd please let the sun come out. Glad we didn't choose the Gazebo!

So CAUN sent me an email on Friday that set the stage for the last 'real' post before we get out of here on Thursday Morning. Yes we are CO-Blogging for your viewing pleasure yet again!

Tito hand me a tissue........

TEN THINGS I LOVE ABOUT PAM - by Caun

(in no particular order)

1. The ability to make things happen when it looks bleak. That's the real woman in you. Able to make a good meal out of $15.00

2. Your fascination for pop culture. I enjoy having that guilty pleasure with you.

3. Your computer literacy. I have NEVER met a woman that knows about the new age of computers as much as you do. From jump drive to PDA, you amaze me with what you know.

4. Your femininity. Sista can work a pony and her 1/2 as in (5'2"1/2) inside joke.

5. Your past, present, and future. PAST: You did not become a product of your environment. PRESENT: You are not defined by anyone except what you are destined to be. FUTURE: Your plan is in action now and is no longer a dream.

6. Your love for Michael Jackson. A true fan would cringe at the site of "The Campbell Experience"(for those that don't get it, go see Dream girls)

7. Your motherhood. A lot can be told about a mother through her children. I am virtually giving you a medal of valor. Through it all, Mini-me is the epitome of what a girl is supposed to be, as far as how she carries herself when her mother is or is not around.

8.Your sexual appetite. You turned my fire into an inferno. You make me want to come home, snatch off your clothes, throw you on the bed and………..let's keep it clean.

9. Your love for me. We are not designed for perfection yet we seek it. I am nowhere near it but you still respect me, love me, trust me and believe in me as if I am. And I love you for that.

10. Your attitude to not give up on internet dating. Because I never would have met Mrs. CAUN David Ruffin,Ralph Tresvant, L.A.'s Finest Magnegro from the Leon Tribe.

TEN THINGS I LOVE ABOUT CAUN - by Pamalicious

(in no particular order)

1. His Balance – as a person who is always leaning so awfully to one side or the other, this man is a perfect piece of pie chart. He touches everything equally, humanely and passionately.

2 His peace – I’m not called Stormeka for nothing, lol Being a darkskinned black man coming up in South Central LA – he didn’t have it smooth. Yet he held onto and fiercely fought to keep some semblance of ‘peace’ in his heart. That peace has carried him – his personal connection to God, and it has seeped into my very pores…most times, lol He captured me by reminding us to not let people rent space in our heads and he keeps me by owning all of his space.

3. The Strength of his Shoulders – A man who can take ‘yours’ and make it ‘His’ without diminishing YOU. This is He.

4. His Man Swagger – there are all sorts of definitions of ‘manhood’ in this day and age. CAUN has his on lock. It doesn’t necessarily follow a definition, yet it follows a long line of men. He’s All Man – All the time. He has a heart also – and he’s not afraid to show it, feel it and acknowledge it. He is not caught up in the false bravado that men are not to suppose to show that they feel. To lay on his chest and know that skipping heartbeat is for real is what I love.

5. His Fun – I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER had this much fun in a relationship! The laughter is real and genuine. His heart is as vibrant as a 19 year old and that would make him 3 years older than me, lol

6. He’s a clothes whore – His sense of style has been fine tuned and he wears it well. I LOVE the fact that whether it be PJ’s or a suit. He is always rocking his A game. As a non-dresser, he inspires and makes me aspire to get at least one outfit NOT in the thrift.

7. His Work Ethic – I am anti-establishment but he has made me open my eyes a bit wider to the concept of…work ethic. His dedication and purposefulness in getting the job done whether it be at his job or loading the dishwasher – propelled me to THREE exceeds expectations this year.

8. His love and admiration of – his own damn ass! I just smile when I watch him looking at himself in the mirror or taking pictures of himself, because in admiring himself I see a confidence that exudes sexiness. Two folks in love with ourselves and each other, lol

9. His Relationship – The way he has time for me, he has passion for me, he has ears for me, he has hugs for me, he has help for me, he has strength for me, he has shoulders for me, he RELATES to me.

10. His doggie style – When he *$*&# and then Whoo Lawd right when )$@@_$#( and I start to *$&#&$)$# it all becomes so )$*#*@)$ and THAT makes him one bad mofo!

Reflect as you move about your space today. REMEMBER there has been advancement but the blackman/woman is STILL CATCHING HELL all over this country daily! Our children are running amuck with no direction and very little guidance! Our Sons - we are losing our sons, which means we are losing....US! Our women are dying of AIDS! Stop acting like you don't...SEE!!!!

As I put on my fourth piece of hair in the last 24 hours - I chuckled at the events that unfolded this weekend.

The only part of my body that is NOT paralyzed are my fingers and so I wanted to get this blog entry out before I crawled downstairs and into my warm bed.

I arrived at the party around 7:45, you know fashionable late, there were a handful of people already there. I immediately went and changed into my Pamalicious outfit and chose me a wig. My matron of honor was in FORM and we immediately started taking pictures.

The decorations and eventually the pole
were in place and it was time to learn our craft!

There were around 20+ women from various walks in attendance but there were only a few of us who were 'brave' enough to tap into our inner strippers. However, we all were attentive as Sis began the class.

Ok so here I am doing the damn thing, lol lol Ok no - this is our instructor JO doing the DAYUM THANG!!

We were having soooo much fun! I mean the drinks were flowing the jokes were outrageous and this was a good time people!!

So of course I was getting my groove on.....

After one hell of a workout - the party got on the move and we headed down to my FAVORITE spot - Bellbottoms! All 80's all the time. When we got out the truck, the sound of Mike singing "Wanna Be Starting Something" caused us to race in the club. We got right in the cages by the DJ booth and got it started. Then...looking out over the floor we encounter:

LORD OF THE DANCE!!

This Brother was on some other stuff! He was dancing posing and taking pictures of himself with his own camera. Sistas he was dancing with would be reduced to the two step cause Bro was dancing like a maniac. I kept having flashes of NACHO LIBRE. Well this drew the attention of "Janets" Sista "Rebbie" and we made our way down to the floor and then over to his whole section (cause he needed room). Next thing you know there was a CHALLENGE! "Rebbie" was taking him on!

YES HE TOOK HIS SHOES OFF!!

THIS 39 YEAR OLD MOTHER OF THREE WAS WRAPPING UP A SERIES OF SPLITS ACROSS THE DANCEFLOOR - SEE THE MONEY SMATTERING THE FLOOR?!

FINALLY THE TRUCE

Club Ova - shut it down - last dance, lol. As I crawled on her couch at 3:34am - I had a HUGE smile on my face.

Oh and we got OVERZEALOUS on the pole - but that's another story.

GOOD TIME HAD BY ALL!!

Life has so many components to it and irregardless of which section you are choosing to focus on, the rest is moving right along.

That’s the case in my own life right now. I am overjoyed about the wedding and as we are now in SINGLE DIGITS till the big day, I am consumed with the last minute planning and purchasing. However, running in its own little space constantly fighting to get out and spill over into areas where it’s not welcomed is just D-R-A-M-A....

Mini-me gets in the car and just starts going off about she ain't go and she don't have and what does it matter seeing as I'll just go to the thrift or the payless. She mad cause she takes the 'nursery' bus to school blah blah blah. I'm darn bleery eyed at the barrage and I'm just like I can't deal with this right now - this 13 year old angst is off tha chain. SIGH.

So I deferred parenting to CAUN. He talked to Her ungrateful behind for a while and then he and I talked about her sense of entitlement and so when we get back - we are instituting the 'earn' it system. It's not to late - she needs to get this lesson. So I'm like hopefully this was the end and it felt good to pass the torch to him.

Well then I'm working on the welcome packs for the wedding and she comes down and hands me an envelope. So I stop and open it and read this two page letter. Lawd Please Have Mercy On ME!

“You may not have realized it, but when one of your relationships ended, it didn't just affect you, it affected me. For example, I loved MoBetta to Death. I guess I was just too young to understand that he was never around. But it really hurt me the most when I figured the reason ya'll broke up was because he was so neat and you were messy (LAWD). Then Grandmom told me that he cheated on you repeatedly with a younger woman (WTF?!) and I hated him for that, but eventually I just moved on.

For awhile I thought I was never going to get a Father. The used to
say things like "Pams had 15 years and Mini-me still doesn't have a dad or know how to act around men. I hated when they said things like that..”

Ever felt like striking out walking?! It is amazing the brevity and depth of the contrived manipulation that has based on this gone on for YEARS!

Now of course I could sit here and explain to the Choir that maybe I Should have just had Nigs rolling up in the spot every day - that might have appeased this FIFTEEN YEARS (especially seeing as Mini-me is only 13 and 15 years ago I was married to her father).

So I sat her down and thanked her for having the courage to put her thoughts on paper and present them to me. And then I explained the MoBetta Situation to her by saying that He and I decided as adults to end our relationship because we figured that maybe the relationship wasn't as strong as we thought since neither one of us wanted to give up our lives in the state in which we lived. I told her there was no drama and that sometimes in life, folks come for a reason and you take that reason and use it.

I also told her that she could take her time in going from Mr. CAUN to….Dad. That was something that may or may not happen with time, I loved her and this is a big change for both of us and it will continue to morph and expand and that as long as she continued to come to me and us no matter the means – she could send a text message – we would work it out. HUG SIGH HUG SIGH………VODKA!

There’s a ‘situation’ going on in my family that I am quite torn about.

I’m not torn about the actual need for the situation, but what is bothering me is the application of pressure, guilt and manipulative measures to try to move the ‘situation’ into another arena. The premise that regardless to whether the person intellectually understands, they have no right to ‘emote’ about it is warped thinking.

The cornering of my future husband, working in his own empty hole about the situation is an underhanded move. The assumption that it is my (and now) our obligation due to some conversation that was wrapped around – ‘the kinda family you want doesn’t exist and it is tradition in the African American community to expand their families by taking in ‘orphans’ that are in need of a home’…Uh Huh.

What I know is that one side of me ‘feels’ for the situation but another side of me grew up with a father who showed up quite regularly with wayward women bringing their children along, which has led me to want to have a life that is devoid of the ‘orphanage’ syndrome. As well as I have had interference in a marriage before and I don’t intend to bring them into this marriage. Call me cold or what you want –but this is DEFINITELY still on the fence! SIGH SIGH…..VODKA

Sometimes when we are in a situation we can’t see the forest for the trees. Cliché’, but oh so true. As women, a lot of times we push away the very thing that might be good for us and as we then spiral out of control, we grasp at whatever we can to provide leverage (in our eyes) against the ultimate crash landing - - even if it is our……children. But is this really a good sound sturdy platform to stand on? Standing on the backs of our children to preach ‘our’ interpretation of the gospel of how we feel about a situation we helped create only weighs heavy...on the child. Standing on our own two feet as a grown woman realizing our own shortcomings as well as how and why people come…and…GO from our lives is a much more stable platform to stand on if you ask me.

Crippling our children in the name of ‘hurting him’ has got to stop. My heart is heavy that waiting on the other side of the 20th are mallets pounding making decisions in situations they are on the outside looking in at – but when we put up darkening curtains attempting to block out the reality of our own lives and what we don’t want to see – it doesn’t change that it exists, it just keeps YOU in the dark…SIGH..SIGH…VODKA

HATING HATING HATING

Click here to make your own myspace banners from MyspaceBanners.com!

Hey peeps. I came across this article and it made me chuckle because I've been o both sides of this fence. About to cross over again into Married land, I've already encountered the Single Woman Eye Roll and I swear somewhere is a Pool on how long our relationship will last, lol.

Taken from Glamour Janaury 2007

What Single Women Hate about Married Women and Vice Versa...

Singles are Hating on Married Women because they...

Love to complain about how dirty their diamond rings are as they show them off.

Expect their single friends to provide a constant stream of 'hilarious' stories about our 'crazy' dating lives.

Suddenly clam up about problems in their own relationship now that they're married.

Act like you're ungrateful if you're not interested in someone they fixed you up with.

Say 'we' this and 'we' that.

Don't seem to reembmer how exhausting (and lonely!) it is to be single.

Sometimes treat their husbands like little kids who've tied their shoelaces for the very first time.

Always leave early on girls night out.

Have the things we (most of us) want.

Married Women are Hating on Single Women Because they...

Act as if somehow the fact that we got married means our life is perfect.

Get mad if you do something simply because your husband prefers.

Constantly ask us to set them up with an eligible bachelor.

Call us 'Smug Marrieds'.

Flaunt the fact that they don't have to consult with anyone before they spend a big wad of dough.

Like to claim "you got the last good one!"

Think they're the only ones allowed to get crushes.

Love to tell you how much they loathe spending money on weddings.

Leave us out of girls nights, girls dinners, girls trips etc. just because we're married!

Hey folks! I hope that your weekend went well. The weather here is bananas! To be prancing around in 70 degreee weather in the first part of January is honestly quite scary because it either means we gonna have a really bad spring with storms etc. or one of the hottest summers on record. I need to start a fund for the bills associated with airconditioning now!

Well this was a calm weekend. The first one we all have been home for since the holidays and so we just kinda reveled in that.

However, I did go out with all of my bridesmaid and had an impromtu Bridesmaid Luncheon at the mall - it was cool and here we are all grinning etc.

Friday Fandango

Click here to make your own myspace banners from MyspaceBanners.com!

So I go to pick up Mini-me and I’m on time and of course they treating me like I'm part of Al-Queda, lol lol I get up there a half hour after she's landed and simutaneously Reggie gets to the airport!

My phone is off cause my money wasn't straight till today (there’s some honesty) - it was a hot mess.

But this is kinda creepy - my phone been off since MONDAY, but I've kept it on because I can’t remember anyone's numbers. Well all of a sudden my phone is bleeping and I'm like why - it don't work and lo and behold I had a text message from mini-me letting me know she had landed and was waiting.

MY BABY GOT THROUGH TO ME!

So anyhoo - I got her FINALLY after pulling the splinters out from up
under my nailbeds, lol and everything was fine. The house is back to normal and we are on routine.

I just don’t get humans sometimes. I was just through with them as a whole yesterday. Now of course I also didn’t know about the changes to who can get a gate pass – but there are some general rules that folks should know by now. I’m looking around and lets be frank – Airtran is gonna be CROWDED. It also is going to have that set of people, who are not accustomed to flying – therefore, patience is at a premium. I saw folks who damn well know they ain’t carrying that gallon jug of jeri curl juice on the damn plane!! Now the line is held up and folks getting mad. We standing to go through security and there are no bins so some punk ass goes and gets HIM a bin. Then the real men came out and drug the whole stack of bins down our way. Lawd have mercy somebody come get they momma. This woman was heat flashing behind me and had a portable fan and now I got an earache! The train is MOVING – get your damn kid, but then again don’t – it might be entertaining to see them fly from one end of the car to the other – I’ll make sure and put my foot out! Then there are the oblivious folks. They are the ones who are calm enough not to let the airport affect them but their calmness is driving the rest of us crazy. They are the ones laughing in line, enjoying the company of their families etc. etc. No they don’t have their ticket out, no they didn’t take off their dookey chain so now they are beeping and holding the rest of us up. They stand on both sides of the escalator so you can’t run pass them.

I am getting to the airport a WEEK before we go to Cancun!!

So this weekend nothing really going on. I think I’ll blog through the weekend, lol. I got some pictures to put up and I found some other stuff. I also am vowing starting Monday to be OFF the computer by 10am. This allows something to freaking HAPPEN. When you on like clockwork every two hours – you have no email, nobody has blogged and you just sitting around getting carpel tunnel.

Monday begins the regular format of the blog. Maybe I should think of some new stuff to put on here LIKE ADVERTISEMENTS!

Ya’ll have a good one!

OH and don't forget to stop through and read about our diet struggles

WEIGH TO GO GURL!

DVR/TIVO Alert & Come on Tyrese!

Afro Samurai tonite on SPIKE TV

Did I miss the blogs about this one!

If you can't stay up to watch Afro Samurai's premiere on Spike TV tonight, the whole episode is still available online. The adult animated series features the voice of Samuel L. Jackson as a black samurai who tries to avenge his father's murder. I saw a preview at Comic-Con earlier this year and it looked almost as cool as it sounded -- the score is produced by RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan, who also worked on Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai and Kill Bill: Vol. 1.

Afro Samurai is based on the Japanese manga series by Takashi Okazaki. It airs on Spike at 11 p.m. ET.

I've had to pack an overnight bag and move into the Comfort Inn until I find out what is going on with my baby daddy - TYRESE! I'm sure ya'll heard that supposedly he hit is pregnant girlfriend. I certainly hope this isn't true because I really don't have the bandwidth right now to file the divorce papers etc. etc. I'mma need him to com eon forth and let me know what's up. He got all the ways to reach me, lol

Whipping Myself into a FRENZY!

Click here to make your own myspace banners from MyspaceBanners.com!

VEGAS BABY! WHATTTT?! Ok, I went out last night and I think I slept two hours, not because I got home at a totall unGodly hour, but because I basically worked myself into a Frenzy about the wedding!

I went out to "Janet's" (for new readers - Janet is my BFF, her alter ego is Janet Jackson, lol) then we joined up with another friend of ours "Medicine Sista" and we went to this really quaint restaurant. At which time they began to look at me as if I grew two heads when I pulled out.....the book.

What is the book? Well it's the Wedding Planning Book. I have everything pertaining to the wedding in this book. I brought the main book for them because there is a travel version of said book, lol lol

This was really the first time I had to bring Janet (who is my maid of honor) up to speed as to what I had done concerning the wedding and it was kinda like passing the torch to a certain extent as I spoke about my vision of how we were gonna pull this off.

The both (over drinks) exclaimed that I was the most organized bride they had ever encountered and that the wedding was....done! Now we just needed to go get married. I had crossed every T and dotted every I.

95% of the wedding I have done myself. Destination Weddings are a bit different than in town weddings in that there is so much you DON'T have to do that the stuff you do have to do - you can actually do it on your own.

I showed my gift bags, my welcome kits, my crafts, my ideas on how to turn The Wynn Buffet into a...reception, lol lol A map of how we were going to launch a covert operation to find Michael Jackson while we were there, lol lol It was SUCH a good time!

There were hints of Bachelorette Debauchery - but I decided I really didn't want to know. I just know four things (1) I'm making Chicken Salad, (2) I'm not coming home, (3) It's a mobile party and (4) Bring my hooker heels. OH YEA!

I keep having these surreal daydreams about the moment they open the doors and I take my walk to join CAUN. There is something so utterly beautiful about the way you feel as you take that walk. In my daydream - I am looking at CAUN and my heart is about to burst from love. Just wonderful!

So there are odds and ends and I still, until it's over, will be fretting about money, but all in all - this meeting set it off!

We are determined to cram as much as humanly possible and we agreed Red Bull and No doze are going to be popped. They arrive Thursday nite at around 11 and we are determined to hit the strip by midnite, lol lol

I've also reconciled in my head that the wedding and the after dinner will probably be the only time I see everyone at one time. This is Vegas and I hear all kinds of plans being formatted. Hopefully I will get to party with everyone that is in the party mood - but I just might not get the chance.

So Today Mini-me comes home. Will be glad to see my baby! With her return our lives will get back to the routine I so crave. School tonite, my family at home safe and sound .... thank you Allah.

So before I go make me some eggs and cheese -

We would like to cordially invite you
to view the wedding of

CAUN and STORMEKA.

If you would like to join us on our special day
via webcast
Please send your email address to
pmprice@mail.com

Please identify yourself - so I can know who you are.

Thanks!

Mood: Quiet
Song: 17 Days – Prince

We will return to regular format beginning Monday, January 8th. Just free styling this week.

Ok so I’m riding beside this Porsche this morning and ole boy is acting as if…I’m impressed! I wanted to turn to the right and introduce him to the white woman in the next car so that he could feel special…NEXT!

Listening to the radio reminded me. I’ve seen Dreamgirls Twice so far, lol (I say so far cause Mini-me has seen it once and wants to see it again). I won’t go into a lengthy ‘review’ because I didn’t go to be a critic. It’s a Musical for Gods Sake. However, a few observations in my own quirky way, lol

  • The costuming in this movie was to DIE FOR! When Beyonce had on that pants suit the hairs raised on the back of my neck. She was wearing the HELL out that hat!!

  • Eddie Murphy was my favorite character! I was loving his ‘soul’ Lawd have mercy!

  • My sugars rose from the sappiness of Ci Ci singing but it was cool

  • I was embarrassed as a FAN with the Campbell Boys – leave Mike out of all future movies if you can’t do better than this, lol CAUN had to hold my hand

  • And Finally

  • Jennifer Hudson did a damn good job! She was believable and she was impassioned. Her version of “I’m Telling You” sent chills of course, however, as a 40 year old woman – it was sung from the vantage point of a 20 something young woman. I kept wanting her to say “and I’mma cut you” at the end, lol.

Until you have cleared out the shoes and cobwebs from under your bed, crawled under it and lay there in a semi-catatonic state over a nigga – you ain’t reached Jennifer Holliday level! LOL. Jennifer did it justice – I can’t WAIT till her album comes out. She’s bout ready to TAKE OVA!

Oh One Mo Thing – the BEST review of the entire movie was done by MARZ. (scroll down to the Christmas entry).

Ok this is crazy, but I made a list of things I want to do technologically, lol.

  • Get me a scanner, copier, printer

  • Move into the video generation – You Tube here I come!

  • Explore….Podcasts!

  • Take a HTML class

  • Explore advertising

These are just a few of the things, I’d like to look into for 2007.

Well I’ve rambled on enough. I’ve been on the phone and lost my train of thought anyway, lol

Before I go, I just wanted to say THANKS to any new readers who have stumbled across my page and THANK YOU to all of my readers who continue to go on this journey with me. I came into this whole blog thing not really expecting anything but to talk to myself – personal blogs don’t get no real love. However, I’ve been exposed to some wonderful people. Everyday I marvel at the level of thought process of my fellow bloggers and the plain beauty of the journey of black people. Just wonderful – so again THANKS so much.

Back to the Daily Routine - Somewhat

Hey People! Well I’m back to somewhat of my normal routine. You know it’s funny, if you are like me and a creature of habit and routine, even though you say that you want to be on no timetable, you do start to miss it. Yesterday, I was getting quite antsy and am glad I had to get up today and get dressed and get ready and get out the house.

I’m glad to see everyone else getting back to the business of blogging. I am mourning the completion of blogging by Slish and Solidaire – but I understand, if the journey is complete then LET IT GO! I’m sure that there are folks starting up as we speak.

Mini-me is still vacationing and will be home Thursday. I’m starting to miss her behind as well. I want to celebrate the New Year with her and go over her hopes and dreams for 2007 – it’s important to listen and validate their lives as well you know.

CAUN and I didn’t do anything spectacular this New Years eve. As you can see from the previous post – I wore my necklace and decorated the fireplace and we settled in front of the TV and very quietly and personally brought in the New Year together. As the sun rose on the day – it marked the END of copulation until our wedding night. I believe he’s going to be sleeping in the garage, lol lol

I woke up yesterday morning and the actuality that I am 2 weeks and some days away from being married hit me. I had a fluttering heart like a mug yesterday! I am not nervous about the marriage – but the unknown of whether or not this trip to Vegas will be a success has got beads of sweat on my brow. So I had to relax by doing crafts for the wedding, lol I now need to make all new lists as we come to the date. Next Friday marks the LAST PAY PERIOD – to pull this off. I’m a well oiled machine however, so it’s just about purchasing at this point. The planning and back work is done.

The invitation for my Bachelorette party went out SO NOW IT”S ON AND POPPIN! I definitely will be sharing some of those pictures. I’m sure folks are poised to catch me on the downswing of an alcohol binge, lol

Finally…..

Once again my blog sphere is expanding! Yep! My friend Jaila and I were chatting about our constant weight battles and though chronicling it via a blog would be something prolific for us – so I am now adding a THIRD blog to my daily routine.
