Are You There God? It's Me Pamela

I wanted to end this year like I will began this year by speaking with You. We are 365 days into this year and the earth about to start yet another rotation around the sun. 2007 is 11 hours away and I thank Thee for, as of this moment, allowing me to see it.

I joked this year that you got to the "P's" but in actuality it's just that I just finally caught up and fell into step beside you. You've always kept me close, because even I can admit - I can be one naive woman, but my entire life You have allowed me to drift and float and not be anymore than singed by the sins of the world and the deviousness of people. I always had just enough rope to live but never enough to hang myself and I feel doubly blessed that I never asked for that either.

This is the year that I became comfortable with me and the path I was on.

This is the year that I believed that you heard me regardless of whether or not I proclaim the way some want me to or speak to you within the confines of a group.

This is the year that I learned that though the glow of happiness may illuminate me - it burns like acid the skin of others.

This is the year that I became ready for love and at that moment it was presented to me.

This is the year that I became important to me and despite labels and such - I put on a one woman show all about....me.

This is the year that I got off a couple of hamsters wheel, because I had exercised my thoughts enough to finally believe them myself - therefore the constant force feeding of other ideas is no longer necessary. At some point you purge more than binge.

This is the year that I fell totally completely and unabashly in love with...me.

This is the year that the lines on my face are more about laughter and joy than pain and sorrow.

This is the year that I am humbled by my faults ALL of them.

This is the year that has revealed all that needs to be done next year.

I just want to thank you Allah, who came in the person of Master Fard Muhammad, for making my rotation around the sun possible, and keeping my face towards the sun and towards....you.

I am not going to make any resolutions except that I resolve to LIVE and not conduct myself in ways that will faciliate my DEATH. I resolve to look outward at the big picture and not at the road that leads to me all the time because I am NOT the best knower or the only planner of my journey. I resolve to continue to take steps forward and in the event I get stagnate allow others to give me a push - the people who are true stewards of my life mean me only the best.

As this year comes to an end I bow my head in Prayer to you...

In the name of Allah, the beneficient, the most merciful, master of this day and judgement in which we all live. Thee alone do we serve and Thee alone do we beseech thy aid.

Oh Allah, guide us along the right path. The path of those upon whom Thou has bestowed favors, not the path of those who have gone astray after hearing they teaching...

Say He Allah is one God. Allah is He of whom nothing is independent but upon whom we all depend. He neither begets nor is He begotten and there is None Like Him. And I bear witness that none deserves to be served or worshipped besides Thee. And I bear witness that The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad is His Last and Greatest Apostle.

AMEN!

CAUN and Stormeka – Year in Review

HAPPY KWANZAA!
Today Is:
Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility)
To build and maintain our community together and make our brother's and sister's problems our problems and to solve them together.

First I want to say CONGRATULATIONS to Superstar Nic on her engagement! A wonderful segue way into todays topic and definitely what will be the most fun for me.

On January 20th I stood at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta beside the poster of Queen Latifah waiting on my date. We had 'noted' briefly on Blackplanet and reconnected on Yahoo IM and as I saw him coming up the escalator 100 watt smile intact – I reminded myself, it’s just a date….On January 20, 2007 I am becoming this man’s wife. This year has been nothing less than a bonafide Love Affair/Story.

We were talking about our year decided it would be fun to recap some of our best moments. This is the type of blog entry that can go on forever and be edited. So today it will start with 10 (in no particular order) and who knows by tonite it might be 20, lol So let’s begin!

The Best of CAUN and Stormeka

  • The Devil Phone – the first night Caun stayed over around 3:30-4:00 am his phone started to vibrate. I thought nothing of it since I knew he had peeps in Cali, but this continued on for awhile and I started to get agitated. Finally I sat straight up and bellowed “ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE BEFORE SHE RUNS ME CRAZY!” He calmly got up looked at me as if I had grown two heads and said “That’s my alarm. I have it set to go off so I can go to the gym before work.” He cut it off and laid back down, I had to stay up and put my face back together. We still use that phone but it has been labeled the Devil Phone by me – cause I am NOT an alarm person

  • Playa Playa – The fun continues, he wanted to take a bath so I got out my guest towels and what not and gave him some Suave Soap for men. Nothing wrong right? Wrong! The soap was leftover from when my brother and brother in law was in town so it was used. He will never let me forget this because he said that was such a playa move giving a man a used bottle of soap.

  • What’s in a name? - La’s Finest was his first name. I couldn’t think of anything else to refer to him on the blog. As we got closer, he was telling me this story about his past and I called him a CAUN (which actually is an acronym) and it stuck. Now he calls himself that as well, but along the course of this relationship we’ve morphed and adopted official names for each other. We were in search of a last name and a viewing of Xmen provided that so our names are officially:

    Stormeka Heatmizer Mariah Beyonce Magnego
    &
CAUN David Ruffin Ralph Tresvant Magnegro from the Leon Tribe

  • Catch Phrases & Improvisation– we are huge pop culture affectionado’s and we enjoy watching, experiencing and netting about it. We’ve adopted some signature lines and moves in our lives that we use on the regular conversation. A couple of our favorites: Nooooo Nigga Nooooo, Watch yo conduct Nigga, Ain’t Nobody Coming to see you Otis! My office hours are, acting out the scene in Sugar Hill when their father died, acting out David Ruffin in the Temptations movie. What fun!

  • The IM’s – a couple of IM’s I’ve saved:

CAUN: I thoroughly enjoy being with you. I love your wit, your mannerism, your aura, your outlook, your attitude, your boldness, your defying odds, your ways, your ignorance as well as your intelligence.(We all have a little ignorance in us.) All of you I am finding very enjoyable. Going through your CD's, slow dancing to a song from way back, laughing together over Martin reruns, watching VH1 asking where are they now, doing nothing but being 14 and 16 and our parents ain't home. It is a feeling I have to say I have not had. First I thought I was in love before but I really was in denial. Now I can say I am in love and it is a great feeling.

CAUN: I Love You Pamela. I love you deeply, truly, dearly, emotionally, physically and soulfully. Loving you is my lifetime dream come true. Thank you for sharing your world with me.

  • On Bended Knee – when we got engaged, Caun said that whenever he has to put the ring on my finger, he would get on bended knee and to this day the few times I’ve taken it off for some reason, he gets on one knee and puts it on my finger again

  • Happy Valentines Day – I got a call from the front desk that I had a guest. I couldn’t imagine who it was but it was Caun. He had come up and had a rose and a card for me. Our relationship was relatively new but he was the first man to ever show up at my job for Valentines Day! I opened the card and it said You and Me and when you opened it up it said two words: IT’S ON! And Lawd Have Mercy it has been ever since!

  • Entertainment Yearly – Caun and I have been to more concerts and movies and events this year than I have ever been to in the span of 365 days. We have seen in concert: Prince at midnite at the Tabernacle, R Kelly at the Fox and New Edition and Mary J at Chastain. We also have taken advantage of box seats and seen about three basketball games and an arena football game and this year we have seen every first run big movie rounding out the year with Pursuit of Happyness and Dream Girls. We already have tickets to see Justin Timberlake next year!

  • Koolaid! – I won’t go into a lot of detail about this but ladies it would behoove you to keep some liquid sweet and low in your pantry (wicked wicked laugh)

  • The Third Date – He came over to watch a movie and I had an entire spread laid out with cheese, fruit, crackers, Welch’s non-alcoholic wine and other goodies. We had a wonderful evening and it is the official beginning of this love affair of ours.

The Year In Review

HAPPY KWANZAA!
Today Is:

Kujichagulia (Self-Determination)
To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves.

Well people it's that time of year. Can you believe it we only have 4 more days of 2006?! Where did the year go?! I hope that it was in the ballpark of what you wanted it to be.

Today marks the beginning of my last three post of 2006. I wanted to spend this time in reflection and just recapping the year that was....2006.

Calendar Of My Year

So many things have happened it will be impossible to just sit here and list them all -

All in all this has been the year of the UPGRADE. I went from a:

B.O.B. to a CAUN
Cold Water Flat to a Subdivision
Hyundai to Durango
Fantastic to Fabulous
Emancipation to Adventure
Associates to Bachelors

This has been one of the best years of my life! I knew that 40 would be important to me, I just felt it. I have grown in ways I didn't know imaginable. I've reconciled ya'll don't know how much inside of me as well as I've moved on and let some things go. There is STILL work to be done, but I have seen noticable and impressive amounts of growth in Pamela this year and THAT IS A BLESSING! I've made some new friends, mourned the lost of some old ones and severed some toxic relationships. I've made peace (one step further) with my family and my family situation. I've become more verbally focused and organized. I've become ready for love....

Tomorrow we will revisit the Year of CAUN and STORMEKA (Ya'll know that's the one you have been waiting for anyway, lol).

Roadtrip!

Hey People!

Hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Today beings the first day of Kwanzaa

DAY ONE

Umoja (Unity)
To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation and race.

So you ever have sooo much you would like to say that you end up with nothing to say. That's how I feel about this trip.

Shopping in the Northeast - $100.00
Total Cost of Gas for the trip - $250.00
CAUN driving from Atlanta to Philadelphia to The Bronx to Yonkers to Philly and finally back to Atlanta a total of over 1793 miles - PRICELESS!

I am blogging from the comfort of my bed! Watching Maury, lol. We have had one whirlwind of a trip! We had a good time but there is NO PLACE like home and like your own bed!

So when I tell you I didn't touch the steering wheel I mean it. CAUN drove from Atl to Phil to the Bronx to Yonkers to Philly to Atlanta and lets not forget all over philly!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so smooth and the Durango gave us no problem (not that I thought it would) and it made travel perfect.

We got to Philly around 7pm due to traffic. Everything went well. My mom and CAUN hit it off. Well I had told my mom that he favored the actor Leon not PRINCE!! I say this because she had us in the back room and it was a twin bed. That man is 6'1, lol lol So that was an interesting evening and I didn't get any sleep trying to keep from falling out the bed.

That next day was sightseeing. We took my mom on her usual errands and that allowed us time to hang out in Philly.
It was damp and rainy, but it wasn't snowing - so okay. CAUN wanted to go sight seeing and that's what we did. In, I don't know, 4 hours we did (1)South Street (2) Liberty Bell (3) Old Philadelphia (4) Declaration of Independence
(5) Rocky Statute and (6) Running up the Rocky steps, lol lol lol I was exhausted, and here's evidence that we did ALOT of walking,
but we had a good time!! That evening we just kinda hung out at the house.

Glad I brought my cooler as well because I went and stocked up on things I can only get in Philly to take home. I bought food! Bump a t-shirt, lol. We went to this open market (9th street market) as we always do and I got 10 pounds of turkey necks for $9.50. Why turkey necks you say - cause they are as big as your ARM! Mutant Turkey necks, lol lol . I also got a case of hot sausages and one for "Janet", and meatballs - I can never find all beef meatballs here and finally as well as around $20 worth of fresh spices. I can't WAIT till the new year so I can get me a pot of necks and rice going!!!!!!!!!!

The wedding was WONDERFUL! Mini-me was a vision of loveliness! Tears flowed freely from my eyes looking at my baby and I was just gone emotionally because being at this wedding signaled that mine was....next.

It was a small intimate wedding and the reception was in the same place. This was such a beautiful time because most of mini-me's paternal family was in attendance and were able to see Mini-me and some of them hadn't seen her since the Furneral. She was getting almost as much attention as the bride, lol lol

The reception was off the hook! Four course meal and because they are Dominican - in addition to the DJ - they had a Latin percussion group so say we were listening to Evelyn Champagne King - she got a remix and turned it latin fusion and so it was off the chain! We all were dancing etc. CAUN fit right in (even though he was the darkest for miles around, lol).
It was special to him (as per his words) that he got to meet Mini-me's Paternal family and assure them that he would continue to raise his daughter in the manner to which she was accustomed and in the circle of love her father would have wanted. For me it was an interesting feeling, because it marked the end of me being in that family and the closing of the past. For 13 years I've been "Rashid's widow" and now I'm about to embark on being "CAUN'S Wife". It was the last time I had that set of in-laws etc. It was leaving the past and looking forward to my future. The redefining of my relationship with that family and the opening of new relationships with CAUN's Family. It was special and a bit bittersweet. It was a great evening all the way around.

We got back to Philly like 2:30am and crashed.
For the next two nights CAUN slept in the lazy boy and gave me the bed (yea he's first in heaven). We left my moms about 2pm and didn't really rush, lol It was just us. We stopped and ate and stopped in VA to do some Christmas shopping for his girls, lol lol It was a cool trip.

Yesterday we just chilled. CAUN has gotten a bit under the weather all the temperature changes etc. I am sniffing a bit as well. We did try to go see Dreamgirls and of course it was sold out till this afternoon, lol lol We'll try when CAUN gets off from work if he feels like it.

The best surprise with returning home. Six people RSVP'ed for the wedding at the wedding we were at AND my friend WAR RSVP'ed he's coming to the wedding!!!!!

CAUN becoming the Money!

Wayback Wednesdays

I am frazzled! Today is potluck day at work and my last day until the 27th, so of course I (1) have to buffer folks acting like they can't survive and (2) finish up stuff I've lollygagged about till the last freaking minute!

It got me to thinking and it is timely about when you were a kid and you got frazzled. One of the things you did was sit down and watch cartoons. Afterschool they helped you relax, on Saturday morning they got your day started right. Even with all the 'adult' cartoons available such as the Simpsons, Family Guy and the like. There is nothing like turning to the Boomerang Channel and watching a good old fashioned Cartoon.

This Wayback is in rememberance of a good Saturday Morning Cartoon and the passing of a Cartoon Legend Joseph Barbera -

HANNA-BARBERA

Hanna-Barbera was an American animated cartoon production company that produced animated television programming and motion pictures for forty-five years between 1957 and 2001. Hanna-Barbera was founded in 1944 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer animation directors William Hanna and Joseph Barbera as H-B Enterprises, through which the pair used to do freelance television commercial production. After MGM shut down its animation studio in 1957, H-B Enterprises became Hanna and Barbera's full-time job. For three decades, Hanna-Barbera produced many successful cartoon series, including The Flintstones, The Jetsons, The Huckleberry Hound Show, The Yogi Bear Show, Jonny Quest, Wacky Races, Scooby-Doo, and Smurfs, all of which would go on to become icons of American pop culture.

In 1991, the company was purchased by Turner Broadcasting, primarily so that Turner could use its 300-plus cartoon series library as the basis of the programming for its new Cartoon Network cable television channel. Re-christened H-B Production Company in 1992, and Hanna-Barbera Cartoons in 1993, the studio continued without active regular input from William Hanna or Joseph Barbera, who both went into semi-retirement yet continued to serve as figureheads for the studio.

During the late 1990s, Turner turned Hanna-Barbera towards primarily producing new material for the Cartoon Network. In 1996, Turner was bought out by Time Warner. With William Hanna's death in 2001, Hanna-Barbera was absorbed into Warner Bros. Animation, and Cartoon Network Studios assumed production of Cartoon Network output. Joseph Barbera died at age 95 in December 2006. The Hanna-Barbera name is today only used to market properties associated with Hanna-Barbera's "classic" works such as The Flintstones and Scooby-Doo, or in future reincarnations of these, or other shows.

Ghetto Socialites

Ok, what had happened was....LOL. Really - it feels so good for folks to be like "Um where's the blog?" LOL So here I am. I was just really busy. Every blue moon I just can't fit it in. But I'm here now.

Sooo where do I begin?! we have been the social butterflies.
Friday evening we went to CAUNS Holiday party and had a really good time.  They had the entire aquarium and Wolf Gang Puck catered.  How classy!  There had to be about 750 people there and 746 of them knew CAUN.  I spent soo much time saying Hello Nice to meet you enjoy your evening Happy Holiday, yes he's a wonderful man, he takes good care of us also, lol lol  And try to keep steady cause I was drinking like a fish, lol lol lol  Good time!  It fits me quite well that I tend to pick men who require celebrity whether real or perceived, lol Pesonally this picture doesn't do us any justice - I am looking slightly linebackish dressed as a drag queenish, lol lol Mini-me wouldn't get up off the couch - lazy ass.

Saturday we went to a Holiday Seafood Party - which is a cool concept.  It was hosted by friends and wrapped around the Falcons game since we watched in the comfort of their theatre room. CAUN had a good time, lol and she had hired a guy from her job to bartend so I was doing more drinking, lol  It was nice to see everyone and just chill out. All that New Orleans flava in the food, lol I know there were over 26 dishes there and there was nothing store bought. Everyone cooked. I mean BBQ Shrimp, Dungeness Crab Legs, other pasta dishes, shrimp scampi, gumbo - just oo la la. So by the time we got home from this function - I was on about 15 drinks between the two events. Buzz real NICEEEEEE!!!

Sunday we went to see Pursuit of Happyness. Good movie. I already see I should have read the book. That way I could have gotten the layers that I needed. They just couldn't dig as deep as I would have liked to I still wanna know what happened to the wife. And like all those nooks and crannies that a book can give you. I still might read the book. Cause now I'm curious.
Love the "Look into the sun picutures" Atlantic Station is sooo nice. I really enjoy down there and CAUN and I are seriously considering moving down there. It's a community that they are supposedly fashioning after New York Urban Dwelling. The concept of living in the city with a surburban atmosphere is there but that which is NY will never be duplicated. I mean where the hell was the Bodego just sitting in the middle of everything, lol It's expensive but we're urbanites and maybe we just want because our kids are older a swanky condo in the city you know.

Also on Sunday I met up with my bridesmaid and we picked her out a dress. I'm glad that is taken care of. I actually found something I was looking for to place in my gift bags as well - so it was a good wedding weekend as far as I'm concerned. I took my Ebay fantastic dress to get it hemmed and of course it cost more than the actual dress, but I still came out like a fat rat. In between all of that, I did some things around the house, finished up school (ON BREAK UNTIL JANUARY 2ND!) and made Stuffed Shells, lol lol Dont' let anyone tell you that a woman's job is a full time job, lol

Monday was my bridal shower. OK so that was a NICE shower!!! Aww Man! They made playing cards with us on them!! I get to keep them as well. There were chocolate coins and little playing cards. So nice!! The spread was nice too and only one meat dish. They made sure I could eat, lol lol

So I got XXX off my registry (thebigday.com) and an American Express Card and an a Target Card and cash!!!!
And they bought CAUN 6 POUNDS of Fruit Cocktail cause they know he eats that stuff by the TON!!! LOL LOL LOL No lie I spend about $20 at the grocery on that stuff every two weeks. So all in all THIS HAS BEEN A FABULOUS FOUR DAYS!!

Tomorrow is Potluck at the office and then we are hitting the road to go to Philadelphia and New York City. I'll speak on that a bit more Thursday. I hope you all had a fabulous weekend as well!

DRIPPING CHOCOLATE-GO HAVE A LICK

12/15/06
Safe for work - but just barely

What a good week people! I'm in good spirits and gearing up for a busy weekend. Today is our office holiday party. We have it over the whole building during the day and the way it works is that something is going on on most floors (we only have six). I will end up on the 5th in the Karoake room - that should be interesting since there is no LIQUOR floor, lol lol

Then this evening, we'll get all gussied up and go to CAUN's Holiday Party at the Aquarium. I haven't been (of course Mini-me has) and so I'm looking forward to that.

Saturday, all of us will be going to a Seafood Holiday Party. That should be real fun. I love my friends house! They have a theatre room. I take the best naps up in that joint, lol lol lol I'll be making fish sausage and my salmon croquettes. During the day there are some errands to be run since we'll be on the road this coming Thursday.

Then Monday is my Office Bridal Shower!!! I'm soooo excited.

So ya'll have a good weekend. Be about love and happiness. Oh, did I tell ya'll our signature at the wedding is " Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Always" - so powerful.

Before I go - I wanted to display some potential dates for my sistas.

Now I KNOW you will be running over to DRIPPING CHOCOLATE!
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Safe for Work

Put Your Hands around your ankles - so as I was listening to my Luke Selections, I had to laugh at my own shortcomings. I've disclosed this before but folks know that I have shall we say an infinity for stripclub music, lol. It just does it for me. I get to moving and groving and apparently I'm from whatever tribe these drums appeal to cause I get rhythm and everything, lol lol It takes me to the place where I'm 5'2 and weight 108 with the chinese slanted eyes. My long yaki japanese straight hair is glistening with the spray in diamond dust I put in it daily and I have a tonque ring and a navel ring. I am HOT!! But anyhoo.............

Had my review today. Got THREE count em THREE Exceeds Expectations this year! Never in my 8+ year tenure at this place have I exceeded expectations on anything but being an ass - so growth is phenonomal and the continued journey of putting my ducks in a row, the blessing of having CAUN in my life which brings me happiness and contentment and frees me up to focus is all a blessing. 2006 Wow when I get started on my year end review - it's gonna be a week long event, lol Be on the lookout for that!

Has alot of your day to day life become blog possibility. I find myself always in the middle of a conversation and like Duck on the Five Heartbeats gotta pull out an old Kroger paperbag and jot down some of the convo as a possible blogspot, lol lol lol Last Night was one of those nights.

Last evening while I was cooking dinner (garlic italian shrimp in tomato sauce over rice) Wait first let me set this up, when I cook dinner, CAUN mills around within 2 inches of me. Kissing me, hugging me, playing with my hair and roaming other areas (insert wicked grin here). I am swatting his hands and telling him to get off me and I can't move and I can't breathe and it's an experience, lol Because then I'll start messing with him, lol lol

So...CAUN and I were talking about when we decided to pursue our relationship. It revolved around the fact that both of us were at a crossroads. At that time Mobetta had made a swing in the upward direction and had asked me about him coming here to see what was up with us. I was dating CAUN maybe a month. Meanwhile CAUN was apparently some woman's 'prize'. Every once in awhile I get to using methaphors and overdo it, lol lol So we were asking each other what made us decide to pursue this particular relationship. I told him that the hardest thing to do is to push yourself forward. If you look behind you and it looks like that scene in Poltergist where she was running down the hall and it kept getting longer and longer then you need to move forward no matter the outcome. My life was going forward and I needed to follow it and not go backwards to a time and a place that in actuality wasn't going to be the same. So I chose to look forward to whatever the future had to bring.

Then we got to speaking about why we feel we make a good couple. It's funny. I was doing this dance the other day and CAUN said "Martin episode where Biggie was looking for background singers" and we fell out laughing because he just 'knew' what I was doing. Alot of folks look at all these very important tangible things that make relationships work and that you should look for in a relationship - but you know what, it's things like that which also make a relationship. I remember someone told CAUN that you don't marry someone because they like electronics like you - well actually you do, lol lol CAUN and I connect on a level that goes beyond the stuff you would want to connect if you about to try to be with someone a long ass time. You need to connect on that second level stuff. We both live in a section of space where frivilous shit matters to us. Yea we want to be able to quote movies and know what movie and what character. We want to go to Best Buy and oogle over the same shit, we wanna look at someone looking at hot ass mess at the mall and agree they looking a hot ass mess. These things are important as well. You wont' always be talking about religion, finances, futures etc. betta make sure you connect on some other levels.

The question came up are we each others best friends and we both said, "Yep". I remember someone said you don't necessarily have to be best friends with your mate and I tend to disagree. Giving your mate the same importance and respect you would give your bestfriend is a wonderful honor. CAUN is my best friend and no not like "Janet" is my best friend that's a female to female relationship - yet think about your best friend. The way you treat them, the way you depend and rely on them, the way you want to spend quality time with them even if you are not doing anything specific, they know you good/bad/ugly and they accept you anyway - shouldn't you want that with your mate?

Well there you have it a typical dinnermaking conversation between CAUN and I. Sprinkle in the jokes, abundant sexual inuendos and you got 99% of our evenings, lol lol

Oh here is a Christmas Movie Quiz - I got 8 out of 10, lol lol Gangsta Muslim in effect!

Before I go - am I the only one excited about Prince doing Superbowl Halftime?!

DRIPPIN CHOCOLATE - GO HAVE A LICK!

12/13/06 - Safe for work
Now edited to drip one drop at a time
Visit the archives to view previous days

Morning! Wanted to get this one on the roll at the appropriate time of the day. One of the BEST parts of Saturday morning was waking up and partaking of that orgasmic puffed sugar known as....CEREAL. Folks talk about who they would like to meet, well I would like to meet whomever invented CEREAL! What a genius, lol lol. Eating cereal was a whole experience - it was about reading the entire box and for some folks that was all the reading they did. It was about making sure the milk was the coldest you could get it, it was about trying to eat in the biggest bowl, it was about getting a mixing bowl and dumping out the entire box to get the...prize!! It was about collecting the box tops to beg your mom to pay $75 in postage to get a plastic ring, lol lol lol

So today for Wayback Wednesday let's take a moment to go back to a simplier unhealthier time where cereal ruled!

Golden Crisp

Rice Krispies

Frosted Flakes

Sugar Smacks

Trix

Fruity Pebbles

Lucky Charms

Cap'n Crunch

DRIPPIN CHOCOLATE - GO HAVE A LICK

12/12/06 - NOT SAFE FOR WORK BUT DELICIOUS!

I was sitting around in my office last evening attempting to write a paper. I don't spend alot of time in the office as I had thought because it's upstairs and I wanna be downstairs. I cut the light on and sighed at the messy desk. I am a paper hoarder. I am third generation paper hoarder. I just can't let it go. I looked around and it dawned on me that my office and my home was probably representative of alot of homes - I had electronic overload!

I was turned on to electronics by my late husband. Him being a music producer and us living in NY, we stayed at J&R Music etc. looking at new and exciting stuff. We had the big cell phones (remember those things, might as well carry a damn yellow pages around) and I remember we were one of the first to get us a Laser Disk player (LOL - I still have a couple of those disk). We had a camcorder and it was so big, we could be mistaken for the media.

My fascination with electronics has continued to this day - leaning more towards technology and I'm wayy behind but I have my fair share. Currently in my office alone I have: (1) Desktop (2) Webcam (3) Three digital cameras (4) two digital camcorders (5) 13 inch TV (6) laser jet printer (7) 2 ink jet printers (8) 1 photo printer and (9) two laptops. I'm sure I'm forgetting something and I want to get a copier and a scanner or that combo because I have pictures I would like to burn to DVD.

On my person I carry a palm, a cell, an Ipod. CAUN has an MP3 player and cell phone he carries. We have two TV's downstairs, 2 DVD players and one VCR and a DVR. We even have a 5'inch black and white in the kitchen.

In the car we have dual portable DVD players and satellite radio

Then there is Mini-me: 1 TV, 1 MP3, 1 old MP3, 1 playstation 2, DVD player, Bratz Palm, cell phone, 2 gameboys, portable DVD player and 1 PSP.

Is this the American Way? I have heard there is a great divide and that there are still an abundance of people who don't own or have ready access to a computer. Especially in our community.

As far as I'm concerned we're at overload and now just purchase because it's available to purchase. My family wants Wii and Playstation 3's and HDTV's and LCD Screens and eventually a freaking movie room. I want a portable printer!! Will it ever end!?

We were driving along and thought this family had one hell of a bright tree in their living room - that wasn't no tree - it was the TV. It took up the entire living room!!!!

I can't remember what I did before we had all of this stuff. My daughter can't fanthom having to say write a letter to someone. use a tape recorder (we have two of those as well) and doesn't know what a roll of flim looks like.

Sometimes I get nervous. Most of my memories are now stored in my computer. what if something goes wrong and so many pictures are lost. Is this abundance of technology and electronics handicapping our kids.

So I wanna know - what do you have in your house? How much of this stuff are you accumulating? Are you addicted? If you don't have a computer in your home Why? Do you think you are out of the loop? Does that bother you?

Monday Musings

DRIPPIN CHOCOLATE - GO HAVE YOU A LICK!
12/11/06 SAFE FOR WORK!!

Hello Good People! I hope that everyone had a wonderful, relaxing, positive weekend and if you didn't work this week to make sure it doesn't mess up your next weekend. I'm getting a late start this morning because we had our All-staff meeting. We do these twice a year and it does help you realize what you are working towards this being non profit and all. I'll be feeling it for about two days and then the bullshyt will creep back in, lol.

An idle mind produces many thoughts....ya'll need to keep me occupied, lol

  • Listening to a woman, who at, 25, has had both breast and her uterus taken out, really made me start to think about what exactly is it that makes us 'women'. When you have two of the major defining pieces of your body removed, how do you tap into your womanhood. Strength beyond imagine.

  • We had a box lunch afterwards and I only at half of my veggie wrap. I've never been one to want my veggies on bread, lol Why don't you just make a dayum salad?! Food is losing it's appeal a little bit - which I guess is good. I guess...

  • I'm discovering that the questions is not about whether you're a hypocrite, we all are, it's about the diversity and scope of your hypocrisy. Do you cast your net wide or do you keep it close to the cuff? Working from the principle that we all are hypocrites - do you pick and choose relationships that most mirror your personal hypocrisy and if you leave out those on the outerskirts, does that make you even MORE of a hypocrite.

  • My neck is killing me, maybe we shouldn't try THAT again....

  • Sometimes the scope of Gods greatness can get away from us, and then you watch "In The Womb" on the National Geographic Channel as they explore from conception to birth an elephant, a dog and a dolphin and it comes back into focus for you. AMAZING!

  • Why on TBS did they censor the word ass, yet the woman said "Well you should see his dick" WTF?!

  • Why did that get worse when Mini-me goes, "Mom it's not like I don't know what she's talking about?

  • Why do people assume that heavier people don't get cold?! I NEED A COAT TO DAMMIT!

  • CAUN did 10 days of Ramadan and I'm proud and happy for him - he'll be having meat for dinner tonite

  • I have to stop calling my medication a 'cocktail' - it's for diabetes people not HIV-yes there is still a stigma out here

  • I finally watched my first episode of The Wire and it was the series finale (yea right) now I want to see it from the beginning

  • I work on a computer everyday but am dreading taking this computer course. It's like when you learn to type wrong - you get the job done but you know your fingers are on the wrong keys. I've learned over the years how to get the job done in Word, Powerpoint, Excel and now they gonna jack me up, lol

  • We had the pleasure of watching a live wedding from the chapel we are getting married at and my heart almost burst out of my chest in excitement! It was soo nice and the picture was very clear. I'm so excited!

  • Never use pure acetone on a DVD.....NEXT

  • I really need to find out how to make money just reading shyt on the internet, lol

  • I laugh at the 'wisdom' I had from 13-25 and that which I have now. It adds a whole new angle to the 'wisdom' my daughter is spewing daily. Honey, it's gonna be alright

Can't Sleep No Mo

Why do I keep ending up here, lol Oh well - Grabbed this from LADYNAY and she's right it's long as hell - but they are fun in some kinda - exhibitionist kinda way.

Besides I'm writing a paper for my final later on today - so might as well get my braincells active.

1. How old do you wish you were?
16 because I would definately be more assertive about what I wanted to do with my life. Even though this decision would effectively uncreate mini-me and Caun for that matter - I really want to see the alternate of what I have experienced up to this date.

2. Where were you when 9/11 happened?
At work. I remember I was IM'ing someone and my friend Mr. Delight put by his name 'some idiot crashed into the wtc' boy did that turn out to be something else.

3. What do you do when vending machines steal your money?
Go get the cafeteria people.

4. Do you consider yourself kind?
Depends on who you ask. Folks are split 50/50 on this one, lol

5. If you had to get a tattoo, where and what would it be?
I have been thinking about getting 'stormeka' somewhere. It would like on my back, lol

6. If you could be fluent in any other language what would it be?
I would like to be able to speak some african language that involved that clicking sound.

7. Do you know your neighbors?
Nope I need to go introduce myself. I am on the corner and there is only one.

8. What do you consider a vacation?
At least 200 miles from my house, when my metro pcs goes out, when I have to get something out a suitcase.

9. Do you follow your horoscope?
Recently I started kinda looking at it - to see what it would say about next year.

10. Would you move for the person you loved?
Well me stepping off from the foundation of family has allowed me to say Yes I'd move. CAUN and I might pack up and move to Vegas where his brother is - who knows, lol

11. Are you touchy feely?
I have learned to be touchy feely.

12. Do you believe that opposites attract?
I think that we are in the last days and folks are joining onto their own kind.

13. Dream job?
Either Editor in chief of my Men's magazine, CEO of my hooker cruise ship, or school director of an all black male school with all black men teachers.

14. Favorite channels?
275 BETJ, VH-1

15. Favorite place to go on a weekend?
Out to eat and shopping

16. Showers or Bath?
Showers. I have yet to take a bath in this tub and at the old house I think in 6 years I sat down maybe twice. If I were to get one of those spa tubs, I would be enarmoured with it for maybe a month and then I would want to go try out my stand up shower only, lol One of my fantasies is to get a villa somewhere where you bathe in the shower outdoors. How hot is that?!

17. Do you paint your nails?
Had fake nails for some reason (mine grow quite well) popped those painfully off so now my nails are in recovery period - so I'm painting them. Hope they look halfway decent by the wedding or I'm doing press ons.

18. Do you trust people easily?
Yea but I'm getting better at that.

19. What are your phobias?
Hmmm - I guess I would say not phobia but I'm scared of snakes (yet am fascinated with them on tv), snails stuff like that.

20. Do you want kids?
NOPE - though I feel kinda empty somewhere that I never had a son and I can't give CAUN one but then again we both are like NO MO. So if he's cool wit it, I'm cool wit it. Our kids can do things for themselves and that's the best feeling.

21. Do you keep a handwritten journal?
For the first time in my life my handwritten journal is quite spotty. I said that I would start back writing with the wedding forward. I do need to get back to it. A place to jot down private feelings, but to be honest. I don't really have any at this point - that scares me cause life couldn't possibly be going that well - that I now only have 'blog compositions'. YIKES!

22. Where would you rather be right now?
At the checkout counter in the Coach Store puchasing this FIERCE $325 pocketbook.

23. What makes you feel warm and safe?
Getting up under my Decafur (we call the fur blanket decafur cause it's in decatur) with my feet tucked under CAUN

24. Heavy or light sleep?
Once you have a child you never sleep deep again without assistance.

25. Are you paranoid?
Nah - I had started to get that way messin round with 'highschool' and that just goes to show how crazy paranoia is - that was the internet!

26. Are you impatient?
Oh yes!

27. Who can you relate to?
I relate to single parents, I relate to children of polygomy, I relate to frustrated writers.

28. How do you feel about interracial couples?
I don't 'feel' any particular way about them. I've decided that the road and journey I need to be working on is my own. Now if you all up in my face wanting to talk about it - then no I don't agree with it, but it doesn't make me uncomfortable because I feel like I have some introspective on it. I know my daughter knows that the two deal breakers in our relationship is bringing Biff home with a Ham sandwich. I don't think I have to worry. Will I have to worry about my step daughter, nah but that pork thing - I have no control over unless it's in my home.

29. Have you been burned by love?
Of course - I use dermablend to cover the scars, lol

30. Whats your life motto?
It is now a shared one with CAUN "don't let folks rent space in your head, allowing you no room to think"

31. What's your main ringtone on your mobile?
Going To The Chapel (I know, you can vomit now, lol)

32. What were you doing at midnight last night?
I was drunk and sleep in the big chair at Janet's House. This year I'll be watching the Peach Drop with CAUN

33. Who was your last text message from?
Janet

34. Who's bed did you sleep in last night?
Mine the same bed I've had for 13 years. It will be a great day when CAUN and I get a bed that we can have only our memories on. I can write a whole blog aobut your mattress and the stories it could tell, lol

Saturday Meme

Me: You could have a woman who ran the streets
Him: Well I got one who runs the e-streets; just don't be out there e-hoeing

And this is how we started our saturday, lol lol So since I was on anyhoo and caught this HOT MEME over at The Phat Lady Sings, let me knock it out while we find something to watch on TV cause it's too cold to really do anything.

I WAS BORN!:

In Cincinatti Ohio at some hospital on June 4, 1966. Boy was I cute!

MARITAL STATUS, ETC:

I am 43 days from becoming Mrs. Caun Magnegro but alas ya'll know that to ad naseum
1 pregnancy - 1 birth - 1 child and two step daughters to be

HOW I GOT INTO BLOGGER

I was surfacing for something and ran across ROD 2.0 which led me to other blogs. I thought blogging was for politics and sadly for keeblers and all of a sudden a whole new world was open up to me.

WEBPAGES/SCREEN NAMES:

Two Blogs, 1 Myspace, 4 email addresses, 1 yahoo messenger, 3 screen names (one for business, one for marriage, and Pamalicious)

BLOGGERS WHOM IVE MET IN PERSON WHO CAN VOUCH FOR MY EXISTENCE:

Inside the Gates of J, Simply Simplified, Sista Morena

BLOGGERS IVE NEVER MET IN PERSON WHO I IM OR CALL:

See Above

FREE NARRATIVE SECTION:

Blogging is interesting and reading them is even more interesting. Just this week I discovered six more active blogspots that I now read. When will it end? LOL I can't spend all day reading blogs, lol I am so enjoy reading the experiences of fellow African Americans of all ages and viewpoints. There is so much commraderie among us it's ridiculous and the similarities are astounding. I like the fact that it seems as if we never overlap subjects unless we want to - everyone has their own thing going. I think it would be kinda cool if we all spread the word and for one day became united and wrote about the EXACT SAME SUBJECT, lol How cool would that be and link several of us together.

FINAL MESSAGE:

Mamasaymamasahmamacuesah!

Hollyicious Moment

Ok, this week has just been so lighthearted and I like it. Sometimes you get bogged down so much in the day to day - you just gotta get away. So today let's focus on the world of entertainment in all it's forms - I wasn't even going in this direction today, but after seeing something I just had to switch gears. Besides who wants to follow up DRIPPIN CHOCOLATE with some kinda mind numbing downer, lol

  • Ok right off the bat, I am going to need TELEVISION TO SIT THE HELL DOWN! However, I am quite intrigued by the revelation that Erik Estrada has been wearing a Hair Piece! and will unveil his real hair line on this show! Will Latoya reveal her real nose? and in a side note - at the Laugh Factory will Steve Harvey rip his hair piece off in a show of defiance?

  • Right now my favorite song is "Hip Hop is Dead" by Nas. If you are gonna sample, then do it right. Seeing as this is Will I Am, is making me even more hype about his supposed work on Mikes stuff

  • Speaking of music. I was telling CAUN last nite that for now I don't want to see the video for this song. I want to listen to the music without visuals. I feel that though there are some artists that have profited greatly from being able to provide visuals, sometimes videos mess up a song. What happened to you making your own personal video in your head as you listen to the song. What happened to just feeling the music. Once you see a video then it's not about the song, it's about what they had on, who the hoochies were, how bad was the lip sync etc. etc. There are folks who need to GIVE UP making videos all together because it doesn't do them justice and it takes away from their craft. JILL SCOTT, MAXWELL, ANITA BAKER, MUSIQ, ERYKAH BADU, KINDRED, INDIA ARIE and PRINCE. Okay about Prince, if it's a performance video fine - because of his craftmanship, you do want to see him jamming but a straight video NO!! When it comes to the Janet's, Madonna's and Michael's of the world. They don't make video's, they make intrepretations of song, lol Keep doing it! However, I think that if we didn't necessarily have to see Mike recently -some of his stuff would have done better. Remember George Michael backed out of his video and it was hot.

  • Ok everytime I hear all this drama Jennifer Holliday is generating about Dreamgirls - do I get this visual of that Episode of Martin when Biggie was on there looking for Back ground singers and Gina and Pam had that battle royale on the stage, LOL LOL LOL I can see the two Jennifers tussling singing "And I Am Telling You" LOL LOL LOL

  • I taped America's Next Top Model but it don't matter - I couldn't really get into it like I wanted to and already read Caridee won. YAWN. I heard that next season might be all plus size girls, you know size 5's and up. That should be interesting. Bring on the next pagent Monique gives.

  • If you are still watching The Real World - you can get great recaps HERE

  • Tim Gunn - the Fashion Chair on Project Runway won't be back for the next season. Why do I feel like Miss Jay is going to make a grand appearance or horror yet - Janice Dickinson YIKES!

  • I guess Dreamgirls made Eddie long to be seen again - Alex Foley is back! However, who wants to see that. I want to see THIS!

  • Remember when Steven Segal was obviously wearing a girdle as he keeps attempting to be the Last Samuri. Well Sylvester Stallone apparently will need a full Emergency Room Team - WHY IN SAM HELL IS HE DOING ROCKY AGAIN!

  • Blockbuster is SCARED of Netflix so they are running this interesting little diddy

From Dec. 5 Through Dec. 21 Netflix Renters Can Sample the Benefits of BLOCKBUSTER Total Access(TM) By Exchanging Their Online Rental Envelope Flaps for Free In-Store Movie Rentals From BLOCKBUSTER Just in time for the holidays, Blockbuster Inc. is giving Netflix subscribers the opportunity to experience the best of BLOCKBUSTER Total Access(TM), the new program that gives online movie renters the option of returning their DVDs in the mail or exchanging them at a participating BLOCKBUSTER® store for free in-store movie rentals. From Dec. 5 through Dec. 21 current Netflix members can exchange the tear-off address flaps of their Netflix rental envelopes and receive on-the-spot free movie rentals from Blockbuster for every flap they bring in to any of the more than 5,000 participating BLOCKBUSTER stores.

  • The Steam Roller known as American Idol - has caused the island of LOST to Move Locations further adding to the already confusing confusion.

  • Missed my Wednesday Wayback - well here it is. THE 50 GREATEST COMMERCIALS OF THE 80'S! They have alot of other cool countdowns on this site as well

  • Curb Your Enthusiam is adding Vivica A Fox to the show for the next season. This show is actually kinda funny in a 'channel your neonegro persona' kinda way, lol lol This should be interesting.

Well there you have it and I want to give a special shout-out to all of the Gossip Rags I read because it takes ALOT of work to do all that cutting and pasting and linking etc. etc. DAYUM!

Oh before I forget ABC Family is showing the 25 days of Christmas. You've missed six days but here is some of the schedule - check the site for the entire lineup:

12/7@7:30 - Twas the Night Before Christmas, 12/8@7:00 - Jack Frost, 12/11@7:00 -Mary Poppins, 12/13@7:00 - Rudolph's Shiny New Year, 12/14@7:00 - The LittleDrummer Boy, 12/18@7:00 - Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, 12/24 Noon to Midnight - Favorite Holiday Classics.

Bringing LICIOUS Back!

Like any good long term commited relationship, you enjoy and desire the commitment and oneness, but you always wanna know that new stuff can constantly be introduced to make it FRESH. That's what I'm giving to you - a new position folks, lol Wednesdays Wayback will be back next week.

You know I've carried around this name Pamalicious for six years now. It's more than a name to me - it's my personal brand. I picked it specifically because it spoke to a couple of sides of me. No, I didn't invent the creativity it took to add that to my name, but folks know it's a good fit....or do they?

Over the years I've never denied my utter fascination and love for Blackmen. I love looking at them, dreaming about them, speaking with them and other things with them and I am blessed to have had some in my life and MOST Blessed to be about to marry the one just for me.

I laugh because I'm the one in the relationship most likely to go on the hunt for the red light district be it on the internet or not. One of my pet peeves has always been that they don't market smut to black women, lol. I mean the only time we get to see brothers to just gawk at it has a homosexual spin on it and then you can't really get into your 'space'. I've always said that I should start a magazine like a KING etc. just for sistas, lol I remember back in the day, how we clamoured for those Big Daddy Kane shots in Playgirl.

Well anyway - I've developed an itch and I need to have it scratched. I'm sure there are other sisters who would just like to go to a place where they can just oogle blackmen. No need for alot of conversation - just show me the pictures. They don't have to be vulgar or even naked, if you love Blackmen you know that they rock it whatever they are doing. They come in all shades and all sizes. Some sistas need up tall dark and chocolate like Tyrese or cuddly like the late Gerald Levert. When we want em - WE WANT EM!

Sooooo - I'm bringing LICIOUS back! (Drum Roll Please)

INTRODUCING FOR YOUR PLEASURE!

Flippity Flop

This is going to be a rambling entry today. My mind is not right. I'm not quite sure what is wrong with me, this is gonna be to the left soooo.........I wish I could rap - I would spit some fire on ya'll right about now, lol.

I found this on a site and it burned the hairs in my nose. I loves me some Mike, but he sets himself up - he really does. At this time you might want to remove small children and pregnant women from the room....

And Can You Believe there is actually a MAKING OF this video! Lawd Help Us!

I was thinking about this in the truck this morning. If I hear one more person say "Why are you strapped for cash? Isn't most of the wedding stuff done?" I guess unless you have planned a wedding, you just wouldn't get this. Regardless of the destination - there are still things to be done and unlike an island destination - this one is a true destination - we are just having it somewhere else. My package includes the ceremony and my flowers and some pictures and a DVD. We got kids, we both are not ones who sit around ready to go formal on the fly. I would like seeing as I can't give nobody nothing else - have a couple of things to commerate and celebrate the wedding. There's rings, dresses, marriage license, spending money, alterations, a daughter with hair to her ass that needs combed, girdles - there are all kinds of things that go into this - so yes I am strapped for cash? I don't want my wedding to be tacky so I'm trying to keep it as middle class as I possibly can.

which leads me to the other statement of the moment...

"But you got a man?" WTF does that have to do with alot of stuff. CAUN is not some trophy I am carrying around! Ok, I have a man THANK YOU ALLAH GOD! I am really feeling blessed. But that conversation is always, to me, tinged with a shot glass of haterade. Yes my life has gotten more stable, I have security, I have love, I have companionship, I have a role model for my child these are wonderful things - and the two of us are evenly YOKED in our mismanagement of money. HOORAY for all the Negroes that learned that little lesson about keeping their credit straight, putting away 10%, opening 401K's and all the other stuff that alot of new age negroes like to throw in your face and put at the top of the 'what I want in a mate' - but there are also alot of folks like me - who for 13 years has been making ends meet and living a comfortable lifestyle - but at an expense. I never learned the value of a dollar for the future only the pleasure it can bring you today. I met a man who I am EVENLY YOKED with when it comes finances. Our life is good we living the American Reality - above our means, lol lol So yea you right - I gots me a man and I HAD me some debt, some creditors, some bills, some future bills and that ain't I can't love away! The True Importance of him in relation to this: We love each other regardless!

***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT***

I hereby will
SHUT THE PHUCK UP
cause
I really don't have anybody to whine to at this point cause remember
I GOT A MAN

***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT***

Hollyicious Moment

I still wanna blog, deal with it, lol

  • You know what is the most exciting thing about Dreamgirls? I along with a million other folks have been given permission to do our rendition of "And I Am Telling You"! OH YEA BABY! I might be gearing up for my virgin youtube entry, lol

  • I'm bringing and entire Sams Club Pack of Tissues to The Pursuit of Happyness - I got years of stuff to cry for once this movie gets me going

  • Totally missed Janet on the BillBoard Awards, but I saw that cutie Chris Brown. I'm at that wonderful age when I can get me a young tenderoni like that

  • I KNOW Supa Sperm is not anywhere trying to say that Mel B. isn't carrying his child? Eddie Please. and NOW hot off the People.com site Tracey Edmonds: I'm Dating Eddie Murphy - Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds, a film producer and the ex-wife of singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, are dating, she tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The couple have been seeing each other "for about a month and a half," Edmonds said at the New York premiere of Dreamgirls, which she attended with Murphy on Monday.

When asked if she was happy she smiled and said, "Yes, very happy. We're having fun."

Previously, Murphy had been seeing former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown. A rep for the comedian said, "We do not comment on Mr. Murphy's personal life."

Edmonds split from "Babyface" in October 2005 after 13 years together.

  • If you thought the Bratz Dance Video game was hella fun - look at this I want to get me a lace front first: Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix(TM) interactive products in North America, record label Music World, and SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT today announced the development of "Destiny's Child Groove," the first mobile dance game featuring the popular R&B songs of multiple Grammy-winning female group Destiny's Child."Destiny's Child Groove" is a competitive dance game that will feature images of vocalists Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and four songs from the group's "#1s" album, including "Survivor," "Bug A Boo," "Say My Name" and "Lose My Breath."

  • The NY Post is reporting that 'Regine' is pregnant (Kim Fields). If that's true, good for her. I sure wish we could get a Living Single reunion. Show it on TV-One - I'm all over it. I miss Max and Kyle...alot. I want to see Max with the baby!

  • If this doesn't bring home (yet again) how others are perceiving us - on what planet did this artist think this looks like Jay-Z - DAYUM!!!!

  • Tank admitted on "The Wendy Williams Experience" that he's dating his Broadway play co-star actress Robin Givens. He says he enjoys singing to New York native Robin on stage as well as the fact that he really likes her. She likes chest I see, lol

Hot off the YouTube Presses (LOVE EM)
I Love NY Audition Special Footage

Now just some random stuff:

  • I really think we need a blog with just random fine men on it - not a whole lotta words just pictures of fine black men in hetrosexual inspired poses so we ladies can get our fantasy on - I think I might be the one to do it for my own indulgence, lol

  • Did anyone see Larry King Tonite? The NY Brother's Fiancee was on with Rev Al. Larry King was asking dumbass questions but Rev Al is getting much better at this kinda stuff.

  • Just when I want to get rid of this high ass cable - I find some plus. I have been watching the National Geographic Channel and Discovery Channel Lately and just loving it. Set your TIVO's/DVR's for this freaky show "In The Womb" - Sunday December 10th 8pm - a special about animals in the womb with the same kinda technology that they use on humans. So get ready to see an ELEPHANT In Utero! OH YEA!

  • Before I go to bed - I'll have one desktop, two laptops and four printers, lol Electronics are our life

  • I got a fit of giggles as I looked at my shower invitation email that was sent out today! I'm always the planner so to have a party for me not planned by me is blowing my mind! Got my gift bag labels in the mail today - now just need to order personalized napkins and get my toasting glasses - it's coming along.

Oh and before I go.....

I LOVE THIS MAN!!!
DAYUM I LOVE THIS MAN!!

Alright - I am finished! Continue on with your evening, lol

Monday Musings

It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year!!!!! Good Day Mates! I hope that everyone had a good weekend. I didnt' do shit this weekend - which allowed alot of time for musing, lol So let's get right to it.

LADIES! The chill in the air means one thing - the brothers are about to start steppin out in the sexy winter gear. Ya'll know what I"m talking about. Cords, Nice Jeans and sweaters with the matching skullies,
TIMBERLANDS (they look 'right' in the winter - not in July). Here's another 'tingler' - Construction Workers bringing out the LONG JOHNS and Flannel Shirts!! Brothers all bundled up in nice jackets but you see their crisp jeans falling just right on those timberlands. The super fly brothers who know how to rock a real coat - the long ones with the scarves and their gloves. HOT DIGGITY DAMN! Wonderful winter colors like cream, chocolate, dark denim, Brothers who grow beards for the winter LAWD HAVE MERCY! Ladies you may now go get a drink of cool water and wipe yah brow.

So I went back over to myspace to try to figure it all out (no need to bother yourself with what's happening on that page). I couldn't quite figure out the entire scope of it, until I realized that I could honor the celebrities that I love, lol So that's what I am doing, lol I do like reading the pages. I have also figured out however, why it will never be a real part of my internet existence - because it's just a popularity game and I'm out the running for that nonsense. If I told ya'll about the 'wars' and the 'top ten lists' and the 'kudos' and the level of drama that happens over there - . The internet is closing in on me. I can't find the 'type' of space that I would like to live in as a 40 year old. Ya'll know I LOVED 'Highschool' - I spent several years up in that joint and it redefined the entire discussion group experience for me - but now it's run it's course. Not necessarily because of anyone or anything - but it's at the point where it's eating it's own vomit, if you can understand that. I can't 'taste' anything - there's eating and rejurgitating on purpose, it's currently just a big ole bulimic fest, lol So now I'm a thought without a discussion board home. But back to Myspace. So there is like some level three drama going with the 25 and under set so I know I won't be putting in any real time over there - but the Michael jackson fan pages are to die for!!! LOL

If you would take a few moments and peer to the RIGHT. You will notice that I've finally updated my Blog Roll. I have no order or any ranking - t hey are all ones that I read daily. These are active writers and folks that run the gamut. I'd like to highlight however a couple of folks that I particularly enjoy.

  • Through These Brown Eyes - Everyday Life and lots of interaction. Go Sit in her kitchen and have some good ole conversation.

  • Inside the Gates of J - this is an up and coming blogger, but I am digging her stories. She is a 'Highschool' Deflector as well

  • Moving Forward - this sista is DEEP. You can't comment, but she is the place to go if you want your daily grateful needs met

  • Trying to Create Equilibrium - New to my eyes, but this sista got something to say! Blk Butterfly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Top Mack Nigga - If you want some 'truth' and some 'comedy' and get a shirt This is a MUST READ!

  • Babee Munkee & Clams - Living in ANUS giving us daily colonics

  • MoBetta Blues - Yes people "Mobetta" is blogging - enough said

  • Freaky Deaky - Booty Booty Everywhere proceed w/caution, but as we know the freaks come out at night

  • Rod 2.0 - THE site for politics and world affairs from a mano y mano point of view MY BLOGFATHER

  • Clay Cane - Edgy, Snappish and just a sprinkle of Queen - EXCELLENT REPORTING

I have a couple more to add - everyday there's new people to read. The black blog community, whether it be on Myspace (which by the way I find not necessary a 'true' blog) or a page made on blackplanet - is becoming one of the most diverse and best places to interact with my people.

I have also put a spot to post some recipies as I do 31 days without meat in my diet. It's December 4th and I'm tired of it already, lol I need to focus. However, I do get creative during this time and come up with some really good healthy filling meals. So glance over there sometimes and check it out.

December is also reminding me that my wedding is just around the corner! I worked on my mom's wedding announcements for her friends, and my welcome to Vegas packs. I also narrowed down where I would like to have my post-wedding dinner. This is NOT a reception. I really think I want to have it at the Wynn Buffet. The rack of Lamb is getting rave reviews all over the net. For $32 a person - I better pass out when I go up in that piece, lol I also researched and found an Indian Buffet for lunch with my family - we can't go anywhere without finding an Indian Restaurant and a Thrift Store, lol lol. I feel unorganized about the City of Vegas and what I would like to do. It's not the place to just wonder around - I need an itinerary. I'm working on that as well.

I'm also feeling out of sorts because "Janet" and I haven't been able to connect in awhile. Our life changes are big ones her acquiring a baby and me acquiring a future husband and they are both full time jobs, but if I don't see my best friend soon - I'm gonna pop!!!

HOLD UP WAIT A MINUTE! Please tell me WHY Flava of Love's NY decided to insert beach balls in her skinny ass?!

This is so blinding to my eyes that I'll just end my musings here, lol lol Let's have another spectacular week!
